MINIMIZING NIGHT DRIVING DANGERS |

| Anti-reflection Coatings
help minimize night driving dangers. Night driving and other evening
activities dependent upon vision, can become increasingly more
difficult, even dangerous, as an individual ages. However, advances in
opthalmic technologies can eliminate the glare that often places night
drivers in danger.
Starting in the early teens, people may lose as much as half of their night vision every fifteen years. Diminished night vision is the result of a reduction of light into the eye. Reduced night vision may also be caused by a restricted pupil. As the eye ages, the pupil does not dilate, or open as wide as it once could. This limits incoming light. In order to cut down on the reflections and glare from lights at night, adults should consider a special anti-reflective coating on their lenses. This special coating can prevent ghost images on the lenses that can distract drivers, cause eye strain or even create headaches. |
